    Confirmation from Apple that they have, somehow, despite being quite good at creating software, apparently created a system unable to create VAT invoices for AppStore purchases that include a company name. The best they do is manually add a VAT number and manually send. It takes several phone calls, callbacks and navigating chat support to get to stage of their process for each purchase. It’s hard not to feel like the friction is intentional.

    Using ChatGPT to write an Obsidian addon * and had to tell it to rewrite the code to 00’s era javascript so I could understand / edit it.

    Sure — here’s the same logic, rewritten in a more old-school, explicit, block-structured JavaScript style:&10; • no arrow functions&10; • no one-line if statements&10; • no ??&10; • no spread syntax&10; • clearer variable naming&10; • everything bracketed and stepped through&10;&10;Nothing functionally changes.

    First visit in years to the common land where I grew up. Hard to describe quite how much it is a part of me. The colour of the sand, the details of the small handful of types of plants that grow there are beyond familiar. Recognising individual trees from 40 years ago everywhere. Cheesy but true.
